Nina Dobrev is having a terrible break up with her ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder. The former couple simply can’t go their separate ways since they both portray main characters on the hit television show The Vampire Diaries , and their rocky relationship is said to be hurting the series.
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry , Nina Dobrev has gotten to the point where she actually “hates” Ian Somerhalder, and when their characters, Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore, are forced to do romantic love scenes together they aren’t as steamy as they should be, and once were.
Fans of The Vampire Diaries are actually worried that Nina and Ian’s problems could cause the show to end prematurely, and so far season 6 has been pretty good.
It all started when Dobrev and Somerhalder ended their three year relationship. At first Nina and Ian remained close friends and had no problem working together. However, when Ian Somerhalder began dating Nina Dobrev’s former friend, Nikki Reed, the problems began.
Ian moved Nikki to Atlanta, Georgia where The Vampire Diaries films and Reed started to become a staple on set, which bothered Dobrev. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder had a falling out over Nikki Reed’s presence on set, which lead to months of awkward moments at work.
Finally, it was reported that Nikki was asked to stay away from set, although it hasn’t seemed to help Nina and Ian’s relationship at all.
The latest gossip reveals that Nina Dobrev may be dating Ian Somerhalder’s friend, singer Mark Foster, which could also be causing some serious dislike between the former love birds.
Meanwhile, it doesn’t look like Ian’s relationship with Nikki Reed shows any signs of slowing. According to the International Business Times , Somerhalder may be planning to pop the question to his live-in girlfriend.
“His relationship with Nina was what it was — it lasted the amount of time it was meant to last — but with Nikki, he feels like he has found the one.”
Ian was recently spotted shopping at a Neil Lane jewelry store and was in the establishment for about an hour. It looks like there could be an engagement in The Vampire Diaries star’s future.
It’s unclear how Nina Dobrev will react to the news if Ian and Nikki do get engaged, but fans are hoping that it won’t end the show they love so much.
