No More One Direction Albums After ‘Four’? Louis Tomlinson Says Maybe

One Direction recently released their newest album, Four , to rave reviews from the critics. But One Direction band member Louis Tomlinson says Four may be the last major album from the crew, and any follow-up albums are looking doubtful.

According to Metro , Louis Tomlinson recently spoke about the future of One Direction and where the guys are planning to go from here. Louis says the band will, at the very least, be tapping the brakes on the band for a bit — which has been going strong for four straight years. Four , not by coincidence, is their fourth album within those four years — proving that Tomlinson and his bandmates have been incredibly prolific so far in their short but massively successful career. Perhaps it’s because of this break-neck pace of producing records that Louis Tomlinson seems to think they should slow down their creative force.

“I think we are planning on having a conversation today about if we are going to do another album,” Louis Tomlinson explained to Metro. “And if we are, we might take a little more time over it.”

One Direction fans might be heartbroken to hear Louis Tomlinson’s opinion on a new album, but that doesn’t mean the band is slowing down any time soon. Four has already been selling rapidly, and Louis and his buds still have a lot of touring to do for the album. There have been some rumors lately that Harry Styles is thinking about quitting One Direction for a solo career, and Louis Tomlinson spoke on that as well, insisting the group still enjoys what they do.

“We’re still a band and still loving it,” said Tomlinson. “We’re completely set on what we are doing. We are here promoting our album so we are, of course, strong as a band and we are very excited for this album.”

According to Reveal , Louis’ comments are likely in the exhausted wake of producing Four , so he might be more keen to make new music once the tour is over. Tomlinson also recently revealed some secrets about how the creative aspect of One Direction works. Many of the guys write songs in separate groups, depending on who they work well with. Tomlinson apparently works better writing songs with Liam Payne, although the two recently had a disagreement on Four . To read more about Louis’ statement about the writing process, click here .

What do you think about Louis Tomlinson’s doubts? Do you think Louis is simply tired of writing songs for awhile, or is a new One Direction album actually unlikely?
