‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5: Emily Kinney Spills Beth And Daryl’s Secrets
When talking about The Walking Dead, each cast member knows not to reveal anything that could be considered a spoiler on the show. But when a new trailer for Season 5 hit the Net showing Emily Kinney’s character Beth Greene in peril following her Season 4 kidnapping, it’s safe to assume the muzzle is off, right?
Not quite.
[Warning: Spoilers Ahead]
Emily recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly to dish on all things Walking Dead. But the 28-year-old singer/actress kept pretty tight-lipped when it came to Beth’s fate in Season 5. In fact, despite the new trailer – which shows Beth Greene trapped in what looks to be a hospital of sorts – the only thing Kinney would tell EW was that she is definitely separated from the group:
“It’s kind of like Beth, I am sort of isolated. All this stuff this season is really exciting and really awesome and I’m having a blast, but like last season, [we’re] separated.”
Emily did dish however on the proposed relationship between herself and Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus. And while Reedus thinks Daryl “has no game,” according to a recent article by Inquistr, Kinney’s statement certainly suggests there will be some kind of development in Season 5 of The Walking Dead.
“I would say last season what you saw, there’s definitely a connection, and a connection that’s growing. And they care about each other a lot, and so there’s definitely something really special there.”
As for the aforementioned Season 4 of The Walking Dead, Emily recently spoke to Channel Guide Magazine about her character’s emergence into the spotlight and the groundwork that was laid for the potential “Bethyl” relationship.
“It was so fun and satisfying for me to finally get to flesh out ‘Oh, this is how she was feeling. This is what her point of view on this is and this is what she felt about living in the prison.”
Emily continued,
“And there was the really great episode where she was reading from her journal that was so helpful for me and, I think, also helpful for the audience because they got to know the character in a different way. I do think it was an unusual pairing with Daryl and Beth, but what makes it so cool is that they pull different things out of each other that we haven’t seen before. I feel like Beth got to choose what kind of person she wanted to be — finally.”
The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres October 11th on AMC.
