Kim Cattrall Tells Women To ‘Tune In’ To Their Changing Bodies

Kim Cattrall became a household name playing the stylish and sexually open Samantha Jones on HBOs Sex and the City. As the unapologetic Samantha, Cattrall, more than any actress on Sex and the City, gave voice to a generation of women more concerned with their careers and their own pleasure than marriage and children. Now that the cameras are gone and the last script has been read, Kim Cattrall has committed to helping her fans accept their bodies at every stage.

The 58-year-old Kim Cattrall has teamed up with Pfizer to encourage menopausal women to stay in tune with their bodies and embrace the changes they undergo during menopause. The campaign, called Tune In To Menopause, features stories of Kim Cattrall’s own journey through menopause.

“I see menopause as the start of the next fabulous phase of life as a woman. Now is a time to ‘tune in’ to our bodies and embrace this new chapter in our lives. If anything, I feel more myself and love my body more now, at 58 years old, than ever before.”

Tune In To Menopause is being run in support of DUAVEE, a new medication designed to help with hot flashes, which many women describe as the most dreaded of all symptoms associated with menopause. Cattrall was fortunate to have a kind of dry run at menopause. Cattrall’s character Samantha Jones went through menopause during the second film of the popular series, Sex and the City 2. Cattrall did extensive research with her personal physician to properly portray Samatha’s symptoms. To her surprise, Cattrall found herself calling him again when her own symptoms started shortly after. While she did not take DUAVEE herself, Kim Cattrall described her first hot flash as feeling “like someone put me in a vat of boiling water.”

Now that Cattrall is back in the public eye, rumors are already swirling about a possible Sex and the City 3 movie.

When asked about the possibility during an interview on Good Morning America, Cattrall said, “I’d love to come back, but it’s a very high bar and we’d need to get everybody back there and scheduling is difficult for people’s lives but always! I revisit it all the time.”

The good news for longtime Sex and the City fans, is that the idea of a third movie isn’t as far fetched as they might think. As The Inquisitr reported, former show runner Michael Patrick King has expressed willingness to do one more film if the right story can be found. While Cynthia Nixon had originally expressed reluctance, in a 2014 interview with TODAY, Nixon had a change of heart and indicated that if King and Parker were on board, she would be as well. The series main star Sarah Jessica Parker has also expressed willingness to return for “one last chapter.”

Will you go see Cattrall in another Sex and the City movie?
