Zelda Williams Says ‘Thank You’ In A Personal Tweet To Supporters

Zelda Williams, the daughter of late actor Robin Williams, has once again returned to Twitter to express her gratitude to fans and supporters. She directed her thanks to those that have reached out on Twitter in the wake of her father’s suicide.

In a short message earlier on Tuesday, she tweeted the following messages.

“I just want to say thank you for all the stories and letters I’ve been receiving, especially from those who’ve also lost loved ones.”

In a second tweet Zelda wrote, “I don’t come online often, but reading of others who have dealt with loss & gone on to live happy, full lives is helpful. Truly.”

These are the first few messages that Zelda has left in the wake of her deleting Twitter from her phone. After receiving death threats and fake suicide photos of her father, she decided to pull back.

At the time she wrote, “I’m sorry. I should’ve risen above. Deleting this from my devices for a good long time, maybe forever. Time will tell. Goodbye.”

As a very private person, Zelda, as well as Robin’s other children, has been pushed into the spotlight after Williams’ death. For the majority of it, Zelda represented Robin’s three children, and because of that, she became a target on social media.

After Zelda’s public harassment, Twitter has promised to revise their policies on abusive behavior in order to hold more people responsible.

Del Harvey, the Vice President of Twitter, released a statement following the controversy.

“We have suspended a number of accounts related to this issue for violating our rules and we are in the process of evaluating how we can further improve our policies to better handle tragic situations like this one. This includes expanding our policies regarding self-harm and private information, and improving support for family members of deceased users.”

Fans have opened their arms for Zelda since her return to Twitter.

The Inquisitr reported on Zelda’s return to the social networking site a few weeks ago. Upon her return, Robin’s daughter linked to an old post on her tumblr account. The message was a strong one from Robin’s old co-star Harvey Fierstein.

“Never be bullied into silence. Never show yourself to be made a victim. Accept no ones definition of your life; define yourself.”

Although Zelda is very grateful for the support, she isn’t exactly okay with her tweets making headlines.

That said, she found her sense of humor and followed it up with a tweet about True Detective.
