Sherri Shepherd Gives ‘The View’ Cast ‘B Grade,’ Loves ‘Hot Topics’
For fans and followers of The View some of the radical changes the show underwent for its new season were welcome, while others were not.
On Monday morning, none other than ex-panelist Sherri Shepherd spoke to Billy Bush and Kit Hoover from Access Hollywood Live during an interview in New York City, suggesting in just a few words that she approves in principle the changes that were made, “They’re working some things out,” Sherri said.
As the saying goes, an interviewee is only as good as their interviewer and when Sherri was asked what grade she would give the new cast on the show, Rosie O’Donnell, Rosie Perez, Whoopi Goldberg and Nicolle Wallace, she replied, “I would give them a B. Because you have to be able to go somewhere [from there].”
Even though Sherri Shepherd exited The View in a flurry of emotion and some controversy, she told the reporters that she tunes in regularly, revealing that she is a big fan of Hot Topics, “I’ve been watching ‘The View’ every day. I love Hot Topics. I love Rosie Perez. I think everybody has got to figure out what they’re doing and they’ve got to jive. It took me three years to get it together!” she said.
Sherri has moved on to bigger and better things since leaving The View, and is currently starring as the Wicked Stepmother in Cinderella on Broadway.
Nevertheless, as Sherri Shepherd revealed during the Kit/Billy interview, she still loves her old show as much as she always did, as Billy joked with Sherri,
“You were live Tweeting during the second episode,” Billy said as Sherri responded, “I know. I’m looking at the Hot Topics and I’m throwing out jokes [at home] and I’m like, ‘Nobody hears me!’ But that’s how much I love it. And that’s the thing – it gets so heated and you feel like you want to be a part of it,” she said.
