Kate Gosselin has recently signed on for a new reality TV series, after the success of her popular two-hour specials. As a result, she will receive a generous income, which will assist in preparing her twin daughters for college as she looks forward to keeping the other six clothed and fed. The salary that she will receive per episode is a bit more than pocket change, and Jon Gosselin has made it known that he wants a cut.
An insider that is close to Kate Gosselin shared that the $40 thousand dollars per episode deal was too good to turn down.
“Kate couldn’t turn it down. She loves doing TV, and it’s basically her only source of income. The twins will be going off to college in five years and then she has six more to put through, so she desperately needs these TLC specials.”
The biggest drawback form the new series is that there is no confirmation of how many episodes will be recorded or air. It has been confirmed that at least one season has been promised.
Unfortunately, Jon Gosselin has vocalized his dismay in bringing the children back to the spotlight. He has also stated that he feels he should receive a cut of the $40K per episode. An unnamed insider shared his thoughts on Jon’s demand for a cut.
“He has no stable job, no steady income, and now he’s trying to tell Kate that if she doesn’t give him a cut of the money, he will claim the kids hate filming and they are being forced to do it.”
The custody woes between Jon and Kate Gosselin have not resulted in the friendliest banter, which has had at least some effect on the children. The high profile life may have made the past years monetarily comforting, but their relationship took a large toll on the entire family. Kate has not backed down from Jon’s demands and has continued to care for her children in the way she is most comfortable.
The insider spoke to Radar Online about Jon’s lack of contact with the kids and his rights to the money from the show.
“He’s waived all his rights as a parent by forgoing all child support payments,”
