WWE News: Kurt Angle Getting A Second Look From Vince McMahon

Kurt Angle is reportedly being given new consideration by Vince McMahon and Triple H, following reports that the Stamford royalty had “blown off” the possibility of ever bringing back the Olympic gold medalist.

Just why is this reconsideration occurring? According to a new report from Daily Wrestling News, it has to do with desperation.

Vince McMahon is said to be concerned about the lack of credible challengers on the current roster for the Beast Incarnate. Amid a growing lack of morale from the talent as well as some of the company’s writers that a “part-timer” like Brock Lesnar should have the belt, the heat is getting turned up to push the former UFC Heavyweight Champion out of his comfort zone.

As The Inquisitr has reported in the past, the TNA contract for Kurt Angle is up in September, and he’s already talking up a WWE return. The sticking point has been Vince and Triple H. Triple H was reportedly furious at Kurt for talking like an Angle return was a done deal. McMahon sees in his former superstar a talent with a lot of substance abuse issues.

The WWE has been burned by Kurt Angle and his “demons” before, and it wasn’t thought to be likely that McMahon would roll out the welcome mat based on that history.

This could potentially be a great thing for the company because however desperate McMahon is for a credible challenger, we’re sure that Angle is more desperate to stay relevant in the industry to which he’s devoted his life.

He’s been clean for a while, and he likely realizes that this is his last shot at the spotlight.

While you certainly can’t blame the WWE for being hesitant with a guy like Kurt Angle, they have given second chances to others — Jake “The Snake” Roberts being one of the names at the top of that list as well as the Ultimate Warrior and many more.

Angle deserves the same level of respect, and he would bring instant credibility to the picture in facing off against Brock Lesnar.

The two men are said to be intensely competitive with one another in real life, and they’ve got a track record of some awesome matches. Add to this the fact we’ve gotten used to seeing Kurt Angle on TNA, and bringing him back should get a pop not seen since the days of the WCW takeover.

What do you think, readers? Is it time to bring back Kurt Angle?
