The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards aired live on Fox this past Sunday and many of the “usual suspects” took top prizes as the event including a fourth win for Mad Men and a top prize for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart which won the category for the ninth year in a row
Along with prizes being handed out, former Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen took to the stage to announce the best comedy actor prize, referring to the award as “his category” and announcing:
“I want to take a moment to get something off my chest, to say a few words to everyone here from Two and a Half Men ,” while adding, “From the bottom of my heart, I wish you nothing but the best for this upcoming season. We spent eight wonderful years together and I know you will continue to make great television.”
When Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons won the category (another show by Two and a Half Men showrunner Chuck Lorre) he said of Sheen presenting his award:
“This is odd for so many reasons.”
