Chicago Bears Destroyed By Drew Brees’ Saints
Drew Brees dominated the Chicago Bears defense while Jay Cutler continued to get knocked to the ground on Sunday as the Saints trampled the bears 30-13.
Brees threw for three TDs in the game including a 70-yarder to Devery Henderson, a 12-yard swing pass to Darren Sproles and a 4-yard TD for Robert Meachem.
The Bears for their part allowed their quarterback to remain the most sacked QB in the NFL, while Cutler scrambling out of the pocket threw off his back foot for much of the game, taking away some of the strength and accuracy in his throws.
When all was said and done Cutler managed to throw for 244 yards and a touchdown however his 19 of 45 pass completions gave him an abysmal 42 percent completion rate. Cutler was without receiver Roy Williams and spent most of the day connecting with Matt Forte (117 yards receiving – 49 yards rushing) and Dane Sanzenbacher who picked up the first touchdown of his NFL career.
The game also witnessed the departure of Bears guard Gabe Carimi and Safety Major Wright who were both injured as the Bears placed their season at a .500 record (1-1).
The one shimmering light for the Bears remains Robbie Gould who kicked a 42-yard field goal in the final seconds of the first half, while adding a 38-yarder int he third quarter to provide nearly half of the teams scoreboard.
