GTA V ‘Flight School’ Update Fixes Money Glitches And Modded Lobbies, But Changes Payouts

Rockstar Games finally released the San Andreas Flight School Update (1.16) to Grand Theft Auto V for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on Tuesday. The update not only brought new content to the online portion of GTA V but also a number of fixes to glitches. It also increased he payout for some GTA Online missions while decreasing the payout for others.

If you want to check out the complete list of updates, please see Rockstar’s patch notes. This article will focus on the money glitches and payout changes. The patch notes for the GTA V update mention that a “wide range of exploits” have been fixed including what appears to be most money glitches. YouTube’s DomIsLive says that all of the glitches have been fixed with the exception of one. However, that one requires players to purchase a car and then wait 45 minutes to sell it using that glitch, which is not ideal.

The other major concern with GTA V is modded money lobbies. This requires a player to mod their console and host a lobby where they give away large amounts of in-game cash, usually for real world cash. Based on posts on forums like se7ensins, modded lobbies appears to have been dealt with for now.

As for payout change, here is what Rockstar updated.

  • Cash rewards are no longer reduced by 50% on replay of a Contact Mission. Players will now receive the full reward for completing a Mission every time.
  • Players now receive more Cash for playing Contact Missions in groups:
  • Two players – +10% Cash
  • Three players – +20% Cash
  • Four players – +30% Cash
  • Cash and RP for Contact Missions have been rebalanced. This is to ensure that all Contact Missions pay out a fair reward in relation to the mission difficulty and amount of time taken. The potential cash payouts have increased significantly overall, although some specific missions have been reduced as a result of the rebalance.

While cash payouts have been increased for replaying Contact Missions and playing in a group, Rockstar has decreased the payout to around $10,000 for popular missions like Rooftop Rumble where players have developed strategies to get high payouts in five minutes or less.

There are reports of other missions paying out more now though such as American Exports and Chopper Trial, particularly when played in groups of two or more.

What do you think of these changes to GTA V? Have you found your overall payouts increasing or decreasing? Sound off in the comments below.
