Niall Horan Takes The Ice Bucket Challenge After Getting Chosen By A Rock Legend [Video]

Niall Horan recently completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and ’90s kids will be extremely jealous after they find out who asked the One Direction singer to dump icy water on his head.

According to The Mirror, Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder nominated Niall Horan to complete the challenge. Brazilian soccer star Neymar also included Horan on his list of three nominees.

You might be wondering why a grunge rock god would ask a boy band member to complete the Ice Bucket Challenge. Luckily, that question is answered in Eddie Vedder’s YouTube video—his adorable daughter also appears in it, and Eddie lets her pick a celeb to challenge. So Directioners need to thank Eddie Vedder’s daughter for giving them the opportunity to see Niall Horan soaking wet in a white T-shirt. Vedder’s other nominees were rock legend Bruce Springsteen and actor Tim Robbins. You can check out Niall’s video above (he gets pretty wild after he gets wet).

Niall Horan is the first member of One Direction to complete the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. However, he only nominated one fellow band member to experience the same icy cold pain that he subjected himself to. His nominees were Louis Tomlinson, soccer star John Terry and tennis player Novak Djokovic.

Directioners want Louis Tomlinson to complete the challenge so badly that they managed to make the hashtag #LOUISDOTHEICEBUCKETCHALLENGE a top trending topic on Twitter. Because the challenge has gone viral among celebrities, fangirls have really embraced getting to see their idols douse themselves with icy buckets of water. As The Inquisitr previously reported, The Fault in Our Stars actor Ansel Elgort has recently completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, as have Justin Bieber and Justin Timberlake.

Niall Horan also isn’t the first boy band member to complete the challenge — 5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin recently shared a video of his chilly bath. He got a little help from band mate Calum Hood, who seemed more than happy to douse a shirtless Ashton Irwin with ice water. For some reason, Calum also opted to doff his top (5 Seconds of Summer fans probably aren’t complaining).

According to NBC News, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has helped raise $15.6 million from July 29 through August 18. Celebrities like Niall Horan have helped make the challenge even more popular, inspiring more people to donate money to the fight against ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease. You’re supposed to accept the challenge or donate money, but many people are doing both.

Do you think Louis Tomlinson will accept Niall Horan’s challenge?
