Barbra Streisand is just like us, folks. She puts her pants on the same way as we do and now she has a social media account on Instagram just like the rest of us. On second thought maybe Streisand is not like us at all. The eight-time Grammy winner signed up for Instagram, but her first photo isn’t like many of ours.
The announcement about joining Instagram came from Barbra’s official Twitter , which is obviously run by Team Streisand.
While countless other celebrities have joined Instagram to connect with fans and share their lives with strangers across the globe, it doesn’t appear like Streisand will be all about the no make up shots or sharing photos doing mundane activities. With one photo Barbra proves that when she isn’t in the public she’s still, well, the fabulous Barbra Streisand.
The 72-year-old posed on a wicker chair in a full on chic ensemble with her beloved little white dog Samantha. She captioned the professional photo, “Hello Instagram… isn’t my Samantha just precious?”

As expected once the diva joined Instagram many fans lost their heads. Many of her supporters ran to Instagram to comment the legend to show their love for the singer and her beloved pooch Samantha. Some even offered Streisand some wise Instagram advice:
“SO HAPPY TO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL, REAL WOMAN ON HERE FOR ONCE! WELCOME. TAKE ALL THE SELFIES YOU WANT. YOUR STUNNING!”
Others reached out to connect with Barbra in a different way:
“Saw you in Philadelphia. Wow! Loved it. I am Barry Y’s cousin, once removed. Just so you know. And I love his girlfriend. Thanks for all you do to make the world a better place.”
The news of Barbra joining Instagram is so huge that some fans just can’t hold in their excitement. A ton made their way over to Twitter to express their excitement.

While she may not have anything in common with all the teens that have invaded Instagram, we really hope Barbra is going to make good of her Instagram account and show everyone how to be a fabulously stylish social media guru.
