For most people, time-lapse recordings are very entertaining to watch. Some of the best examples are used for nature such as the movement of a starfish on the ocean floor, the rising or the setting of the sun, or even the growth of a plant. Here on The Inquisitr , we’ve reported on some of the most interesting time-lapse projects such as Mount Etna in Italy erupting. Probably our most insane time lapse video we reported is a time lapse video of the making of a time lapse video . Yes, it sounds mind-blowing!

Some Youtube stars now use the time-lapse direction to make some amazing videos. For one woman, the time lapse video she made would last for one year, but the end result is so harrowing, it will break the hearts of people with sympathy. Why? Because the video’s topic is living with a man who is abusive for one year.

The video itself is a couple years old, but got a bit of a revival in an article by Good Men Project because of the recent news of Susanne Stacy, a woman who had a selfie of herself posted after an abusive fight with her husband that left her bloodied and battered. The article even has a view about domestic violence being a universal scourge that affects millions women and children of every nationality, every race, every income level, and every socioeconomic background. This statement is also the same with men (which I purposely left out in the last sentence to make a point), but people generally don’t think of men of being abuse victims in a relationship. A previous report on The Inquisitr proves that very case when we reported its testing in the form of a social experiment.

In an earlier article by New York Daily News , we get more details about the above year-long time-lapse project. First, the woman snapped a picture of herself daily for one year showing her distressing decline from palpable confidence and beauty to heartbreaking apprehension and open wounds. The title of the video – when translated into English – is One Photo a Day in the Worst Year of My Life . It put domestic abuse front and center and during the time of that article’s publication, there were 2 million views. Now, the video has over 16 million views.

It should also be reported that the video is an artistic social experiment and the woman, named Noah Kalina, didn’t really get abused over the course of one year, but make-up was used to make the bruises on her face. Still, the video’s message still rings loud and clear.
