Olivia Munn On Dating Aaron Rodgers: ‘Private Life’ The Most Important Part Of Being An Actor

Olivia Munn is no stranger to being exposed. The 33 year-old star of HBO’s The Newsroom, who is officially dating Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, has been a celebrated geek girl, a Maxim Hot 100 winner and a fashion icon ever since she first burst onto the scene in 2006.

And while Rodgers seems cool with letting the media in on their relationship together, it seems Munn would much rather maintain a private life. In a recent interview with Cover Media Olivia described why maintaining a private life is so important for her career:

“Well I think the biggest thing for an actor is keeping yourself and your private life as limited as possible to the outside world,” Munn told Cover, via Yahoo News. “We are in a world now where people want to know more things and they want to connect with you and identify with you and my fans are the only reason why I am at where I am at today, so I feel a need to definitely keep myself open to them, but at the same time as an actor, you need people to suspend their disbelief when they watch you on-screen.”

Munn continued, hinting that she’d prefer to keep mum on dating new boyfriend Aaron Rodgers because she fears her public relationships could hurt her ability to be viewed as a legitimate actor when vying for roles in the future:

“When I think people share too much and give away too much that hurts the audiences and they can’t just watch you anymore without seeing everything about your life.”

Aaron Rodgers meanwhile, has done a complete one-eighty when it comes to sharing his relationship with Olivia in the media. As reported by Inquistr, Aaron has come to terms with the fact that he is a public figure, even though he’s just a football player. In an interview with ESPN Milwaukee, Rodgers had this to say when on the discussion of dating Olivia Munn and the attention it warrants from the media:

“There’s always going to be attention or scrutiny, and you can either understand it comes with the territory and embrace it, or you can lock yourself away. And I just can’t do that. I need to be living my life. And I’m going to continue living my life and enjoy my public life and enjoy my relationships and not worry too much about that other stuff because it’s like in football – there’s some things you just cannot control, and that’s one of them.”

Olivia Munn is currently shooting season three of The Newsroom.
