Could Tom Hiddleston Play ‘The Joker’ In ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’?
Could Tom Hiddleston, who played Loki in Thor, be cast as The Joker in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice or is this just the craziest rumor you’ve heard yet regarding the much talked about sequel to Man Of Steel?
The British thespian is one of the most versatile modern actors out there and has pleased both fans and critics with his portrayal of the villain Loki, so he is no stranger to playing such dark and demented roles.
Many fans of Hiddleston’s believe he would be perfect for the role and they may be right, if, in fact, he is being considered to play everyone’s favorite villain in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice (boy, that is a mouthful).
The website Moviepilot.com is credited with starting the rumor, arguing that sooner or later we are bound to see The Joker, Batman’s ultimate arch rival in the comic books series and in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.
Tom Hiddleston would join fellow Brit Henry Cavill, who played another American hero, Superman, in Man of Steel and will reprise his role in Batman v Superman Dawn Of Justice.
This is all speculation and rumor at this time, and we don’t really know if The Joker will be included in Snyder’s film, but for those who do not know Tom Hiddleston’s work, here is a taste of what one of the nicest guys in showbiz can do as an actor.
In this video, taken at Comic Con 2013, Tom surprised everyone in the room with his impromptu Loki speech. Hiddleston shows that he is more than capable of playing a character as twisted as The Joker.
With more rumors that Tom Hiddleston will not reprise his role in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, many who follow his career closely are hoping that he will be considered for The Joker in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
Yes, he would have to step into the late Heath Ledger’s shoes, after he brought us the darkest, meanest Joker yet, but if anyone can continue in his legacy, Tom Hiddleston can.
However, and this is a big one, jumping from Marvel to DC Entertainment may not be contractually possible for Tom Hiddleston, but there is no question he could pull it off without a problem. Another possible contender for the role is Adrien Brody, who has expressed interest in the role.
