If that Resistance 3 demo from the Battle: Los Angeles Blu-Ray wasn’t enough to tide you over, IGN is reporting that Insomniac Games revealed at Comic Con that an open multiplayer beta for the title is set to kick off sometime during the first week of August.
Insomniac divulged little beyond that, but they did confirm that the beta will, at the least, include two modes: Team Deathmatch and Chain Reaction. They weren’t willing to tell us what maps would be coming with the beta, either, but thanks to footage leaking out onto YouTube, we know what at least one of them is.
A set of videos showed up on YouTube last week of the ongoing closed beta on the map “Seaside”. It’s likely there will be at least one other map to go along with it, but we’re probably going to have to wait until closer towards launch before we find out for sure.
If you’ve got around 20 minutes to set aside to watch some good ol’ Resistance 3 multiplayer, you can find a pair of videos from the closed beta at the bottom of the post.
Resistance 3 is due out exclusively on the PlayStation 3 on September 6 in North America, September 9 in Europe.
