Call of Duty: Ghosts Invasion DLC Now Avalable

Call of Duty: Ghosts Invasion downloadable content was released today for XBox One and XBox 360. The Invasion DLC costs $14.99 unless users have purchased a season pass for Call of Duty: Ghosts. The XBox download will take up about 1.52 GB of hard drive space

According to VG24/7, the developer of Call of Duty, Infinity Ward, added three new multiplayer maps, a remake of an older map from a previous game in the Call of Duty franchise, and a brand new mission for co-op Extinction mode.

Playstation Lifestyle listed the Call of Duty: Ghosts new maps, along with their descriptions. Ranging from smallest to largest, the maps are Departed, a rural Mexican town; Pharoah, an abandoned archaeological site of an ancient Egyptian palace; Mutiny, a Caribbean island; and a re-done version of Favela from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty: Ghosts’ new Extinction episode is titled Awakening, and it requires the player to descend into an alien underworld to fight through a subterranean fortress and obtain the Ark.

A patch for Call of Duty: Ghosts was also released shortly after the Invasion DLC came out, improving anti-cheating mechanisms, reverting some changes, and adding a few other goodies. The Golden Knife melee weapon comes with the patch, along with the Golden PDW automatic firing weapon. Five new relics and five new Prestige Ranks were also added to Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Extinction mode.

Invasion is the third of four map packs to be released for Call of Duty: Ghosts after Onslaught and Devestation. The last DLC package, titled Nemesis, will be available later this year.

According to Segment Next, the Call of Duty: Ghosts Invasion DLC will be available for PS3 and PS4 in about a month. The PC version of the DLC will likely be released at the same time as the PlayStation pack.
