Kate Middleton is reportedly pregnant with twins and has already shared the good news with the royal family, though publicly the Duchess of Cambridge remains silent on a possible baby No. 2 (or 3).
Reports this week are claiming that Middleton announced the second pregnancy to the royal family, telling them she is having twin girls. The report also claimed that the palace is close to making an official announcement.
The report, which comes from the June 2 print edition of OK! Magazine , would seem to confirm a flurry of rumors that Kate Middleton is pregnant . For several weeks celebrity news outlets both in the UK and the United States have claimed that Kate is hiding a pregnancy, and her absence last week at a star-studded charity dinner was blamed on morning sickness.
The latest reports claim that Kate is thrilled to be adding two girls to the family.
“Kate has always wanted a daughter, and she’s talked about it so much that William did too,” a palace insider told the publication.
The source added, “Kate’s upbringing with Pippa [Middleton] was idyllic and she always wanted to have girls of her own to carry on the legacy of strong, happy women. Plus, she thinks George having sisters will be tremendously good for his character.”
Kate kicked off a new round of rumors last week when she skipped out on the Ralph Lauren charity dinner , with sources initially saying the Duchess had to care for her infant son. But with a full-time nanny under the employ of Kate and Prince William, many believed the excuse was just a cover so Kate didn’t tip off her pregnancy too soon.
At the time, Life & Style magazine reported that an official pregnancy announcement was on the way soon, and that Kate was clearing her schedule to deal with a second bout of severe morning sickness. In her first pregnancy with Prince George, Kate was so stricken by morning sickness that she had to go to a hospital to be treated for dehydration, which hastened an official announcement of her pregnancy.
Life & Style also reported that Kate broke the news to William in style during their trip to New Zealand. “Prince William presented Kate Middleton with a dazzling $5,650 Cartier watch, but the top-of-the-line timepiece couldn’t match the Duchess of Cambridge’s gift for her husband,” the report noted.
If Kate Middleton is pregnant with twins, she is remaining tight-lipped about it. Neither she nor anyone else in the royal family has spoken about the ongoing reports.
