‘Fast And The Furious 7’ Wraps Up Filming, Paul Walker’s Brothers Fill In The Gaps

Fast and the Furious 7 resumed filming months after Paul Walker’s untimely death. At the film’s set in Malibu, heads turned as two of Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, join the cast to finish their brother’s remaining scenes.

Cody was shooting scenes with Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Vin Diesel, and Tyrese and onlookers were doing double takes as Cody has a stark resemblance to his later brother. TMZ reports that Paul’s other brother, Caleb, will be doing voice work and try to match Paul’s voice. Audio engineers will be merging Paul’s voice from the archives with his brother’s voice in order to fill holes in the movie.

Paul Walker died in a car crash in November last year, when Fast and the Furious 7 was in the middle of filming. He was 40 years old.

According to Examiner, Paul was already done filming his major scenes for the movie before he passed away. After his death, the production heads thought of scrapping the movie. However, they ultimately decided that finishing the movie is what Paul would want. “We came together and all felt the only choice was to continue,” the producers of the film said on Facebook.

Paul Walker's Brothers On Set

Despite the producers’ decision to continue with Fast and the Furious 7, they still had to come up with a solution that will satisfy fans and honor the memory of the late actor. They found what they were looking for in Paul’s brothers.

Cody and Caleb have filled in the gaps for a few action shots to wrap up Fast and the Furious 7. Pictures from the set show Cody and Caleb sporting casual grey shirts, jeans, and sneakers. At first glance, onlookers might think that it was Paul on set.

Fast and the Furious 7 wrapped up filming in Abu Dhabi. They shot scenes in iconic locations, such as the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers Hotel, Al Ain City and the Emirates Palace, and Paul’s brothers were there with the cast members at the locations, as well.

In an interview with Ellen on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ludacris stopped by and talked about how it was like working with Cody and Caleb. He said that the two brothers sound and look a lot like Paul and the resemblance was “scary.”

Before Paul Walker’s death, it was said that the Fast and the Furious franchise would continue to Fast and the Furious 10, at the very least. However, with Paul’s demise, plans for future installments have not yet been revealed.

Fast and the Furious 7 is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 9, 2015.
