Heather Locklear’s daughter , Ava, apparently gets along great with dad, Richie Sambora — Bon Jovi’s guitarist — and he loves every minute of it.
In a candid interview with People magazine, Sambora confessed that he still cares for his ex-wife, Heather:
“Time does heal old wounds. I mean, I still love Heather and I know she loves me. She’s the mother of my child, man. What can you say?”
After being married to Mötley Crüe’s drummer Tommy Lee for seven-years, Heather Locklear started dating Richie Sambora and married him in 1994 in Paris, the Melrose Place star gave birth to the couple’s daughter, Ava Sambora in 1997.
Heather filed for divorce in 2006 and Richie’s filed for joint custody the next month. In 2007, the divorce was finalized. In 2011, Locklear announced her engagement to Jack Wagner — her Melrose Place co-star — however, in November of the same year it was called off.
Now Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora have put all their differences behind them and have genuinely affection for each other, making them one of the friendliest exes in Hollywood — something we don’t see everyday.
Richie, 54, bragged about Ava and the close relationship they share:
“She and I are close and have a candid relationship. Boundaries are set…that doesn’t budge.”
“She is an amazing kid and dedicated to school. She’s acting. The first audition she (went) out for was Judd Apatow’s This Is 40 —and she got it. She’s been doing Disney stuff. I’m really proud of her—she’s just a joy.”
“My favorite girl—her and my mom, I always say.”
In late March, Heather, her daughter, and Richie went on a family vacation , having a great time with some friends, as they enjoyed the beautiful Kona beach where they stayed. The couple was all smiles and looked relaxed.

Of course, the latest photos and Richie Sambora’s statements are creating all sorts of buzz on the internet suggesting the couple are considering a reconciliation.
Heather Locklear’s daughter, Ava — also a model — attended the Radio Disney Music Awards with dad Richie in April and they were seen enjoying themselves while posing for photographers.
