Windows Phone 7 Now Has 25,000 Apps [Report]

It’s nowhere near the size of the Apple App Store but Microsoft on Friday passed an important milestone for their Windows Phone 7 devices, reaching 25,000 available applications.

The number which comes from an independent app tracking service is slightly higher than other services which list the total at just under 25,000 but in any case the growing number of program available for the phone is increasing and according to the chart shown above they are doing so at an increasing rate.

If the chart is correct the company in the last three months has managed to amass 13.5k applications with steadily increasing numbers month over month.

Those numbers will likely pick up with Mango on the way which promises to bring the OS into direct competition with Android and iOS, although Microsoft has made that promise before and fallen short.
