Bruce Willis is learning the hard way that property prices do not increase for ever.
Forbes magazine says that Willis, 59, is anxious to unload the 20-acre estate he owns in Hailey, Idaho. Willis reputedly invested some $20 million in acquiring not only a home, but also a theater, and two bars, “Shorty’s” and “The Mint Bar.”
Last month, Willis agreed to a $1.2 million price cut for his 8,400-square-foot home, bringing the new list price down to $8.8 million. The original listed asking price in 2011 was $15 million.
The mansion, situated on Flying Heart Lake in Idaho’s Sun Valley, has a living room with vaulted ceilings and a large stone fireplace, plus multiple fireplaces in the bedrooms, a 2,200-square-foot master suite and bath, log posts and beams and a chef’s kitchen.
The main house has 8,400 square feet of living space. In 2003, Willis rebuilt the main house and added a detached guest house, a gym, “several ponds and streams,” not to mention a pool with “water slides, waterfall features and rope swing,” according to a report in the Wall Street Journal in 2011.
The interior features a sunken living room with two stone fireplaces; a kitchen with a six-burner dual-oven Viking stove plus two Sub-Zero refrigerators and two dishwashers; and a 2,200-square-foot master suite with two heated decks, a jetted soaking tub and granite shower, and a custom closet.
And, just to add that extra touch, Zillow Blog comments “you never have to shovel the walk: the pavers, decks and driveway are all heated.”
After Willis failed to receive any offer of $15 million, he cut the price to $13 million in August 2012.
Still no takers – so he unlisted the property. In December 2012 he re-listed it and nothing happened.
In March of last year, he cut the price to $12 million.
Again – no takers! So, last February, he reduced the price to $10 million.
STILL no interest.
Now he has cut the price yet again to $8.8 million, nearly half his original asking price.

But, bear in mind that Willis is not desperate for money. According to Celebrity Networth Bruce Willis is currently worth around $150 million.
