‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Trailer Spins A Web Between Peter Parker And Harry Osborn

The final Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer has hit, and this time it focuses on the relationship between Peter Parker and Harry Osborn. Apparently this film is trying to rewrite the basic plot from the original trilogy, because things are very different now.

Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) is obviously not even going to meet Mary Jane yet, as the film still has him with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). This is ignoring the early rumors that the Green Goblin might kill Gwen Stacy like he did in the comics. Sony seems to have no intention of touching the Tobey Maguire version of the character as the Amazing Spider-Man series is now set to be expanded in at least four more movies.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Sinister Six and Venom will be getting their own movies, with both spinoffs now having confirmed directors.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer begins with Peter and Harry meeting after “ten years,” explaining that they haven’t really hung out much, but used to be close friends. Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) gets his first clue about Peter Parker when they throw stones out into the water and Peter makes his stone skip about six times before it leaves the screen. He jokingly covers it up, “Just the wrist, it’s all in the wrist, buddy!”

We learn that Oscorp has had Peter Parker under surveillance, and Harry Osborn starts getting suspicious. When Peter discovers a personal video blog from his father, he starts having suspicions of his own about Oscorp, and about the death of his father.

It appears that Harry Osborn has been involved in some of the underhanded dealings as he has a friendly chat with Electro (Jamie Foxx) and discuss trying to “catch a spider.”

Could Harry Osborn be the one behind all of Spider-Man’s problems? On May 2, we’ll know the truth. Until then, what do you think of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer?
