Jennifer Lawrence will be wowing readers when she is featured – nearly naked — in the March issue of Empire magazine.
J-Law, along with her X-Men: Days of Future Past co-stars Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, and Ellen Page are part of 25 different covers from the entertainment magazine that will go on sale January 30.
Wearing blue from head to toe (the only thing that is not blue are her eyeballs), she returns to her role of Mystique in the franchise.
In the striking image — which leaves little to the imagination — Jennifer Lawrence shows off her fit, muscular body as she starts promoting the highly anticipated sequel opening in theaters on May 23.
For the 2011 original, X-Men: First Class , Jennifer endured hours in the make-up chair and is very happy she won’t have to do that again.
In February of 2013 she told E! News that producers were trying to come up with a way the process of turning her blue wouldn’t be so time consuming for the sequel.
“I’m so excited because I’m going to wear a body suit,” she said. “It will be from neck down so it will cut out time and the blisters.”
Jennifer Lawrence went into greater detail about her role as Mystique in a September interview with Sci Fi :
“I’m naked. But when I do get to wear clothes, I love the ’70s outfits.” the 23-year-old said about her role.
The story is set 10-years after the original.
“Some of the Mystique look is a little different, but we’re still using the same paint. But she’s different in this film too. She was struggling — like a lot of normal humans — with the way she looked, and she was covered up a lot in the first movie, but this time she is Mutant and proud.”
The new issue of Empire also includes some never-before-seen stills of the film. Jennifer Lawrence is a very lucky girl, as she even got a shoutout from Hugh Jackman on Twitter:
