Ginger Alden’s Elvis Memoir: First Look At Book From The King’s Bride-To-Be

Ginger Alden gave the world its first look at her upcoming memoir, Elvis & Ginger: Elvis Presley’s Fiancee and Last Love Finally Tells Her Story, proving once more that while the King may be dead (emphasis on “may”), his memory is alive and well for fans around the world.

According to Amazon (where Ginger Alden’s book can be pre-ordered in advance of its August 5, 2014 release date):

“Above it all, Alden rescues Elvis from the hearsay, rumors, and tabloid speculations of his final year by shedding a frank yet personal light on a very public legend. From a unique and intimate perspective, she reveals the man—complicated, romantic, fallible, and human—behind the enduring myth, a superstar worshiped by millions, and loved by Ginger Alden.”

Born and raised in Memphis, Tenn., Ginger Alden was engaged to Elvis at the time of his death in 1977. Alden was the one to find his body after he died.

“I said, ‘Elvis,’ and he didn’t answer, so I opened his bathroom door and that’s when I saw him in there,” Ginger said in an interview after the King’s death.

“He said, ‘I’m going into the bathroom to read,’ and that’s the last thing he said to me,” Alden added.

The cover of Elvis & Ginger offers a paradoxical look at Elvis Presley. He’s done up in the extravagant attire for which he was known, with a fur-clad Ginger Alden by his side. But, at the same time, he’s also just a regular guy, with a cup of coffee in his hand, taking a picture in the snow with the woman he loves. He is the Elvis the whole world knew, and at the same time, the Elvis only Ginger Alden knew.

Subsequent to his death, Ginger Alden went on to a career in acting and modeling. Her credits include mostly soap opera work and numerous commercials. For the most part, Ginger Alden has lived a very private life, a fact that will no doubt change with the impending release of Elvis & Ginger.

What do you think of the news of Ginger Alden’s book? What should the world expect to learn when Ginger “sets the record straight”?
