Jon Stewart Slams Chicago’s Deep Pan Pizza [Watch]

Jon Stewart has always been known as a staunchly proud New Yorker. There was some significant whining by Chicagoans after the WTC was announced as America’s tallest building over Chicago’s Willis Tower.

CNN reported on the tallest building thing on Wednesday, the report said:

One World Trade Center in New York will be the United States’ tallest building when completed, beating out Chicago’s Willis Tower, according to an announcement Tuesday by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.

As if that wasn’t a hard enough blow to Chicago pride, Jon Stewart proceeded, on The Daily Show, to set Chicagoans straight about their obsession that their deep pan pizza is better than New York’s world renowned thin crust pizza.

“OK I was going to be nice but now you’ve gone too far. Let me explain something, deep dish pizza is not only not better than New York pizza, it’s not pizza. It’s a f–king casserole!” Stewart said.

He took particular exception to the fact that in Chicago they like to smother their cheesy pizza with sauce: “It’s a cornbread biscuit which you’ve melted cheese on and then — in defiance of God and man and all things holy — you poured uncooked marinara sauce atop the cheese. Atop!” He exclaimed.

He went even further referring to Chicago’s sauce as a “whore”: “The sauce, naked, cold on display like some sort of sauce whore!”

As if the tirade wasn’t enough for any self-respecting New Yorker, Jon Stewart continued:

“You know the expression there’s no such thing as bad sex or bad pizza? Your [Chicago] pizza is like sex with a corpse made of sand paper! Let me tell you something, this is not pizza This is tomato soup in a bread bowl. This is an above-ground marinara swimming pool for rats!”he continued.
