Jersey Shore Season 4 Postponed By Salary Dispute, Angry Italians
Snooki, The Situation and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast are set to begin filming Season 4 of their popular Reality TV show on April 18, however production has been delayed for two reasons according to production insiders: Contract issues regarding money and Italians who are bitter than the cast is filming their “insulting show” in Italy.
The first issue is a simple money commitment in which half of the cast wants more money than they earned in seasons 2 and 3. You may recall that cast members were able to push their salaries above $10,000 per episode last season after threatening to shut down production before their Miami season was allowed to begin.
According to insiders Ronnie, Sammi and Vinny have already signed deals, while the rest of the cast remain holdouts for more money.
A production insider told RadarOnline.com on Wednesday:
“Several of the housemates haven’t signed their contracts and until they do, the cast can’t go to Italy,” while adding, “…The cast was meant to leave on April 18, but now with the contact troubles, they won’t be leaving until May.”
The second issue boils down to the Italian locals in Tuscany who are not allowing MTV to secure shooting locations due to the stereotyped portrayal cast members provide as “Guidos” and “Guidettes.”
According to overseas Columnist Roberto Del Bove of New Notzie:
“They embody the worst stereotypes of Italians, multiplied by thousands and Americanized.”
I have a feeling that Italy won’t be portrayed in all it’s beauty with limited locations available and with this season possibly being the last for the series, it sure won’t be the best way to bow out.
