Alabama Crimson Tide Football Looks To Keep Rolling Against LSU Tigers

The Alabama Crimson Tide football welcomes a tough LSU Tigers squad to Bryant-Denny Stadium for a prime time SEC football showdown this Saturday, another stop on the road to repeating as BCS National Champions for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama hopes to factor into the final BCS title game, to be contended January 6, 2014 at the 100th Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. The Crimson Tide have been at the top of the heap since the first rankings first hit on October 20 and Alabama isn’t planning on going anywhere any time soon. To keep their spot as college football’s top dog, the Crimson Tide must surge over the LSU Tigers this weekend and for these two teams, it’s never just a game.

In order for Alabama to get the win at home, the Crimson tide just needs to keep doing what they do best: run the football, keep the LSU defense honest with the passing game and stay stingy on defense. If the Alabama D-line can keep the LSU run game grounded, it forces Tigers QB Zach Mettenberger to throw the football and the Crimson Tide secondary can key on wide outs Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry. Offensively, Alabama QB AJ McCarron needs to keep spreading the football around like he’s done all year and the Crimson Tide need a big game on the ground from sophomore RB T.J. Yeldon.

While Alabama is likely to factor into the BCS Championship game, whether they get there still at No. 1 remains to be seen. After the LSU, the Crimson Tide face the SEC’s other Tigers team and current No.9 Auburn. Down the stretch, Alabama has the toughest schedule of any of the BCS top 5 and the Crimson Tide and Stanford are the only two that have to play two ranked football teams. Of the remaining contenders, Florida State and Ohio State have the easiest path, with no ranked opponents left. When the Alabama Crimson Tide face off against LSU, Florida State plays Syracuse.

Will the Alabama football team three-peat as BCS National Champions? Which team is most likely to upset the Crimson Tide?
