Kim Kardashian Says She’ll Take Kanye’s Name After Marriage
Kim Kardashian revealed in a recent interview that after she marries Kanye West, she’ll take his last name and become “Kim Kardashian West.”
“I will,” she told E! News of taking Kanye’s last name, adding that she’s planning on the Hillary Rodham Clinton model of absorbing her maiden name into her middle name.
The New York Daily News reported that Kim’s name change could happen as soon as next year. This follows up with a previous interview with Kanye West, during which he said that the wedding is planned for “sometime next summer.” He also said that he wants “fighter jets” there.
It’s now a little over a week since West popped the question to his baby mama, which he admitted was spontaneous. Vanity Fair pointed out that West indicated he had no specific reason for proposing to Kim at the San Francisco baseball stadium beyond that he just felt like it.
West said he “thought it would be dope,” and that “they didn’t have the lights exactly like I wanted it to be,” when he got there.
“I’m arguing with the guy who put it together for me. He’s talking about, ‘Man it need to be more romantic.’ I said, ‘It’s a baseball field. What you talking about? If I wanted to be romantic, I would have gone to a small restaurant or something.'”
But she loved it, even if it was her third time around.
“I cried afterwards. I was shaking. And when you’re like, Is this really happening? But you’re just shaking…I honestly had no idea, none whatsoever,” she said of West’s proposal.
“I knew we were going to San Francisco for my birthday, because he had a show there the next night. So I thought it was just a birthday dinner.”
Even still, she hasn’t really thought much about the wedding plans just yet.
“As far as wedding stuff, we haven’t even talked about anything—it’s been such a whirlwind. We need like a moment to relax and figure it all out,” she said. “I’m going to leave this up to him. Whatever he wants.”
Well, he wants fighter jets.
