Cobra iRadar Detection System Will Arrive For Android Next Month

How do you make radar detection in your car a bit more advanced? You add a Google Android Smartphone into the mix.

Cobra has announced that their iRadar detection system will arrive in April for Android users, a program that has been offered to iPhone users since late 2010.

The new Android option was announced at the gdgt Live event at SXSW and consists of a standard dash-mounted radar detector and an app that uses the phones own GPS to send warnings about photo enforcement zones and other possible trouble areas for drivers.

The company has also announced that users will soon be able to share radar alerts with other iRadar users.

Here’s a video of the program in action:

Do you think the iRadar is worth the buy? For Smartphone addicted users I can definitely see the appeal.
