Lisa Lampanelli has added four shows at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York. The one-woman show is titled Skinny B*tch: Not a Stand-Up Comedy Show.

Lampanelli’s performance will be in contrast to her unique and crude stand-up routines. The show will include a frank discussion about Lampanelli’s struggles in life.

As reported by Broadway World, the routine will not be without humor. However, it will be toned down.

Lisa Lampanelli’s performance will detail her problems with men, her image, self-esteem, and constant battle with her weight. The audience will get a unique view of the woman behind the smile.

As reported by MTV, Lampanelli’s first career was in magazines. She worked as a copy editor for Popular Mechanics. She also wrote columns for Hit Parader, Spy, and Rolling Stone.

She began her comedy career working in small clubs throughout New York City. Her frank personality and insult humor gained the attention of radio show host Howard Stern.

Following several appearances on Howard Stern’s show, Lampanelli moved on to television. In 2001 she appeared on Comedy Central’s roast of Hugh Hefner. Her performance was well-received, leading to more appearances on Comedy Central roasts.

Lampanelli hit the big screen in 2006, appearing in Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector.

In addition to her work as a comedian, Lampanelli is a talented singer. She has released numerous albums.

Lampanelli has become a legend for her raunchy and insulting brand of comedy. As she often insults her own behavior and physique, her fans are rarely offended.

Where other performers are cautious about crossing a line, for Lampanelli there is no line. She says what she is thinking, with little regard for the repercussions. Some might think she is offensive. However, others find her honesty refreshing.

Lisa Lampanellia has scheduled four shows at the Strand. The shows on October 3, 4, and 5, will begin at 8 pm. The October 6 show will begin at 3 pm. Tickets go on sale August 13 for Strand members. They will be available to the general public on August 27.
