Jamaal Charles Carted Off Field During Chiefs Practice

Jamaal Charles was injured today while practicing with the Kansas City Chiefs and had to be carted off the field by the medical staff.

The extent of Charles’ injuries are not known at this time but it’s never good when a player is taken off the field on a cart.

NFL.com reports that Charles was set to be a centerpiece of the Chiefs offense this year so the team is probably a little worried about the injury.

Thankfully, it doesn’t look like it’s anything too serious. Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star reports that Charles suffered a strained foot. He has already had some X-rays and it doesn’t look like anything is broken.

Teicher write son Twitter: “Charles has what chiefs are calling a strained foot. X rays were negative so his absence might not be extended.”

Charles will be a major player for the Kansas City Chiefs this year (he’s also at the top of several Fantasy Football draft lists) so there are several people who are pretty concerned with his status. At the moment, it looks like Charles won’t miss too much time due to the recent injury.

The Kansas City Chiefs said that they would provide an update later today.
