AT&T Completes 3G Upgrade In New York, Vastly Improves Voice Quality, Or So They Say

AT&T today announced that they have finished the full infrastructure launch for their 850MHz 3G upgrade throughout the New York City area. According to the company the upgrade will help improve capacity and call quality abilities.

By AT&T estimates the new 3G option has already improved voice quality by 47%, while the new system gives more capacity to the five boroughs, a much needed increase considering up to 30% of all iPhone calls have experienced call dropping throughout the area.
