Lohan ordered by judge to wear SCRAM bracelet

Lindsay Lohan has again escaped the clink despite being in Cannes during her most recent court date, but a judge ordered that she wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet.

Lohan must wear the ankle bracelet until she returns for her next hearing on July 6th and the court determines whether she violated the terms of her probation by dragging her feet on alcohol education classes. Judge Martha Revel and Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, disagreed on the necessity of the bracelet and terms of random drug testing:

“She is prepared to demonstrate by actions that she is in compliance,” lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley told Revel.

Holley proposed that Lohan submit to weekly drug and alcohol tests in Texas since the company that keeps electronic tabs on SCRAM devices is in Long Beach, Calif., — likely out of range.

“The court would be alerted but at the same time would allow her to also make a living,” Holley said of her alternative proposal.

“She needs to submit to random drug testing here, not in Texas,” Revel countered. “I’m afraid she will have to delay that for now.”

Judge Revel dismissed Holley’s objections again when Holley asserted that labs in Texas were also reputable, and Judge Revel reminded Lohan that missing a test would have the same outcome as a “dirty” test. Per Revel’s orders, Lohan must activate the SCRAM bracelet within 24 hours. Failure to comply with the judge’s orders could land Lohan in jail for 180 days.
