The official Motorola Cliq update was released today and version 1.3.18 brings with it Quick Office 2 and a much needed improved battery life.
The over-the-air update has already been pushed to many Cliq customers and should propagate to other users shortly.
Version 1.3.18 offers Quick Office 2 which allows users to open documents, edit them and even create new Microsoft Office docs. The update also speeds up tasks including Google Maps and geotagging photos, while improving missed call notifications, stopping spontaneous speakerphone activation and improving music playback for the phones external speakers.
The OTA update also delivers WMA and WAV file support, while a Bluetooth change lets OEM Bluetooth car kits display names of incoming callers, allows users to view call history and sync their phone book with their cars interface. Listening to visual voicemail over Bluetooth is also now equipped.
Sim Card contact saves are also improved, according to Electronista:
Contacts saved on the SIM card can now be imported, exported or deleted either in groups or individually. The latest versions of Google’s apps are likewise part of the update.
Thank goodness for useful updates that actually improve more than one or two small options.
