Smart And Eco-Friendly Turbine Light Concept, Using Cars To Power Street Lights

Posted: February 6, 2010

Turbine Light Concept

The Turbine Light concept will officially debut later this month at the Greener Gadgets Conference in New York City, but the concept was so cool we just couldn’t wait any longer.

The eco-friendly street lights work by attaching turbines to light poles, as traffic passed by the wind creating from each vehicle spins the turbines, which in turn harnesses that wind power in order to generate electricity for the lights.

We’re not sure at this point if the power generated can be stored for the late hours of the night when not as much traffic is being generated, however more details will be announced on February 25th at the Greener Gadgets Conference. [Turbine Light]
