Dwayne Johnson Wouldn’t Mind Joining ‘The Expendables 3’


Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is interested in signing on for The Expendables 3.

The Fast and Furious 6 co-star said during a recent interview that he wouldn’t mind tackling a role in Sylvester Stallone’s successful action franchise.

“It all depends,” Johnson told the folks at Collider. “Yeah, sure. I like Sly. He’s been a buddy for some time. I love the first one and I’m excited about the second one. Sure, if he needs somebody to hunt somebody down, he knows where I’m at.”

While he’s waiting for the phone call from Sylvester Stallone regarding The Expendables 3, the actor is staying busy promoting his upcoming action flick G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Dwayne Johnson also mentioned that Universal is currently eyeballing another entry in the Fast and the Furious franchise. However, the busy actor didn’t reveal too many details about the proposed sequel.

“I’m coming back for the one. I know we’re trying to make ‘Fast Seven’ if it works, sure. Yeah, there’s unfinished business,” Johnson stated.

Sylvester Stallone recently took to Twitter to address a number of questions about the upcoming Expendables 3. Stallone said the script would feature a “mountain of surprises” for fans of the franchise.

The Grudge Match star also stated that he was interested in getting some “new blood” into the franchise during the next go-around. Stallone also squashed rumors that Steven Seagal would be joining the fray for this particular installment.

“[‘The Expendables 3’] needs new blood and more humor. The films were always meant to be more on the humorous side with moments of drama,” Stallone wrote on Twitter.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation isn’t the only movie Dwayne Johnson will be promoting this year. The Rock will also start the pushing his Michael Bay flick Pain and Gain later this year. Fast and Furious 6 is slated to arrive in theaters this May.
