Google Press Conference Scheduled For January 5th, Nexus One The Likely Reason

Google has announced a full press conference for January 5th which they’ve deemed an “Android Press Gathering” and while they haven’t exactly come out and said the Nexus One will be the main focus, we’re pretty sure that’s exactly what’s in store.

The invite reads:

“With the launch of the first Android-powered device just over a year ago we’ve seen how a powerful, open platform can spur mobile product innovation. And this is just the beginning of what’s possible.”

The event, which is expected to last all morning will start with a press conference and presentation then move on to an event where those in attendance can test Google’s technology out on their own.

Google is expected to sell the Nexus One directly from their own site, yet it’s being ushered in by the likes of T-Mobile USA, signifying the first time that a major carrier in the United States has actually endorsed an unlocked cellular device.
