AXE Is Sending 22 Lucky Contest Winners Into Space


AXE is sending 22 common folks on a trip to outer space. The company, also known as Lynx, noted the men’s personal hygiene line was going to offer the “most epic prize on earth” and appears to be living up to the bold claim. AXE, well known for its sexy fragrance commercials, is partnering with Buzz Aldrin on the program.

Famed astronaut Buzz Aldrin had this to say about the AXE contest:

“Space travel for everyone is the next frontier in the human experience. I’m thrilled that AXE is giving the young people of today such an extraordinary opportunity to experience some of what I’ve encountered in space.”

Until February 3, folks from 60 specified countries can apply for the 22 spots at the recently formed AXE Apollo Space Academy. The lucky winners will train for a trip to the edge of space in a private spaceship. The Axe space contest is linked to the company’s first Super Bowl ad entitled, “Lifeguard.” The commercial will the opportunity for another person to take the trip to the edge of outer space, Business Insider notes.

The AXE Apollo Space Academy spaceship was built by XCOR Aerospace, a US company. The XCOR AXE spaceship will be operated by the Space Expedition Curacao tourism firm, according to MSN. The men and women applying for the AXE trip to the edge of space must write about why they should they be chosen as one of the lucky few to garner a spot on the spaceship. The responses will reviewed as a part of the voting selection process. The AXE space camp is located in Orlando, Florida.
