Blue Ivy Carter Turns One Today: What Could Beyonce And Jay-Z Have Planned For Her Birthday?

It’s Blue Ivy Carter’s first birthday today. As the only daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z and the first child of Hip-Hop and R&B royalty, speculation about how they are planning to mark the event is already everywhere online.

It won’t be easy, after all this is a little girl who, even before she was born, was introduced to the world by her mother in style as a baby bump at the 2011 Video Music Awards. Then, proud father Jay-Z composed a song — Glory — for his girl when she finally arrived.

To recap, Blue Ivy has already traveled to St Barts and the south of France with her ocean loving parents, and the pair recently laid out a cool $1 million to rent a luxurious basement suite at Barclays Center so that their daughter can accompany them when they watch the Brooklyn Nets play.

In addition, the New York Post previously reported that the couple gifted Blue with a $600,000 solid gold, handmade rocking horse from Japanese jeweler Ginza Tanaka, a $19,995 Fantasy Carriage crib from PoshTots, plus a $15,000 Swarovski crystal-studded highchair, and a $285 Jean Paul Gaultier silk bib — not to mention the trove of children’s books she received from Oprah Winfrey.

So, now that this lucky little girl has reached the grand old age of one, what might her smitten parents be planning as a celebration?

Well, it seems Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Blue Ivy have gone to ground after separate performances on New Year’s Eve. As one might expect, a variety of rumors are now doing the rounds about where and how the family are seeing in the big day.

The Sun, Capital FM, and the Christian Post are reporting that Jay-Z and Beyonce are throwing an extravagant party today. They also speculate that Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin will be going with their kids Apple and Moses in tow, and Beyonce’s sister Solange and her son Julez.

Meanwhile Entertainmentwise thinks the family have decamped to Bahamas.

But even if none of the above is true, there’s no doubt that Blue will be the center of attention today whatever happens.
