WWE News: Check Out The Women Of ‘Raw’ Prepare For War In Awesome ‘Extreme Rules’ Photoshoot

On Sunday, the superstars of Monday Night Raw will put their own safety on the line when they step into the world of hardcore matches at Extreme Rules. The card is looking really good and WWE is sincerely hoping that it brings in big crowds, with the ratings falling constantly for the last two months. However, the build-up has been promising. It continued this week with a photoshoot showcasing the “extreme” looks of the women of Raw.

There has been a lot of build-up for Extreme Rules and most of the matches actually have weeks of back-and-forth. There aren’t many of them that are just thrown together, and a few of them actually have months of history behind them.

With the ratings pretty much underground at this point and the debacle that was the “Bayley, This Is Your Life” segment on Raw this week, Extreme Rules needs to bring it. They need to bring everything they have and have it be a pay-per-view (PPV) that delivers in every single match.

Along with that, the official website of WWE has been doing everything possible to drum up a lot of interest in the PPV, and that includes an “extreme” photoshoot. One has to admit that the four women from the Raw roster do look great in these photos and really draw attention to this Sunday.

Alexa Bliss really needs to deliver in a big way for her match with Bayley on Sunday as she was riding a hot streak until that segment this week. It was painful to watch and some are calling it the “worst ever,” but as talented as those two women are, they should bring about a great match.

Emma

Everyone knows that Emma isn’t on the card for Extreme Rules and it is due to her having been out of action for weeks now. She suffered a shoulder injury during WWE’s European tour last month and there really has not been a whole lot said about her or it in weeks now.

According to Cageside Seats, she will actually be back sooner rather than later which means the fans could see her back in action by mid-June. If she’s able to stay healthy, she could really bring a lot to the women’s division on Raw and provide some fresh programs for Bayley and Alexa Bliss.

Maryse

Even though Maryse is not a full-time in-ring performer on Raw, she is on TV every single week with The Miz, her real-life husband.

Full card for Extreme Rules as of this writing:

  • Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way No. 1 Contender’s Match: Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor
  • Intercontinental Championship: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. The Miz (If Ambrose is disqualified, he loses the title)
  • Raw Women’s Championship – Kendo Stick on a Pole: Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Bayley
  • Raw Tag Team Championship – Steel Cage: The Hardy Boyz (c) vs. Cesaro & Sheamus
  • WWE Cruiserweight Championship – Submission Match: Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries
  • Mixed Tag Team Match: Rich Swann & Sasha Banks vs. Noam Dar & Alicia Fox

Another match or two could be added, but it’s interesting to see that three of the four women in this Extreme Rules photoshoot aren’t even on the card. Sure, Maryse will accompany The Miz and Emma is injured, but Nia Jax isn’t going to be anywhere to be seen.

Extreme Rules is one of those gimmick pay-per-view events that usually bring in pretty big audiences and that is exactly what WWE needs right now. These matches should be very good and will mostly consist of spots-fests, but that makes for some entertaining television. This photoshoot with Nia Jax, Alexa Bliss, Maryse, and Emma is another way the company is hoping fans will tune in on Sunday night and 24 hours later for Monday Night Raw.
