Notre Dame is currently the number one team in college football and if they beat USC this Saturday they’ll be playing in the BCS championship game. But beating USC isn’t an easy task. In fact, USC QB Max Wittek guarantees that his team will win.
Those are some pretty bold words coming from Wittek considering that he isn’t USC’s number one QB.
The red shirt freshman will be filling in for Matt Barkley who suffered a shoulder injury during the team’s loss to UCLA on Saturday. Wittek may not have too much on field experience (he’s complete 8 passes for 95 yards this season) but he definitely has confidence.
“We haven’t got the full game plan yet, but from what I can tell, we’re going to play our offense, whatever coach (Lane) Kiffin feels comfortable giving me. If he wants to air it out, let’s air it out. If he wants to pound it on the ground, let’s do that. Like I said, I’m going to go out there, I’m going to play within myself, within the system, and we’re going to win this ballgame.”
Wittek is coming into a difficult situation and he needs to be confident if he wants any chance of succeeding on Saturday. That being said, Manti Te’o and the rest of the Notre Dame’s defense will be gunning for the inexperienced quarterback.
Do you think USC will beat Notre Dame on Saturday? It could happen, after all, Notre Dame just received the Sports Illustrated jinx…
