SB Nation relaunches front page as real time aggregator, signs Fanhouse deal

new sbnation

Sports blog network SB Nation has relaunched its front page as a real time sports news aggregator, and has announced a deal with the AOL owned Fanhouse sports news network.

The new front page of SB Nation highlights stories from across the extensive SB Nation blog network, and combines these with external links to other sports properties in a move that’s part meme tracker, part real-time play. CEO Jim Bankoff told PaidContent that they now calls SB Nation “national sports site” and that some of the changes add a “human touch” that helps make the content “much more valuable than a robotic aggregator.”

The deal with Fanhouse sees SBNation added a feed from Fanhouse to give it more link love, while Fanhouse is going to add SBNation stories to its mix “to add local coverage to its national spin.”

The new look and feature set is a marked step up for SB Nation from its previous role as a catch all for its blog network, and sports fans will enjoy the mix.
