Rihanna To Make £5 Million For Turning On Christmas Lights

Sultry singer Rihanna is going to earn £5million if she decides to switch on the Christmas lights at London’s Westfield shopping centre.

She has been offered the astronomical sum to illuminate the shopping centre near the Olympic stadium with a source revealing, “Westfield have had a great year due to the Olympics and want to fork out to celebrate. Even though the final contract is still being thrashed out, they’re prepared to pay up to £5 million her for.”

“Organisers are expecting around 20,000 people to swamp the park, ” continued the insider, “The Spice Girls were also discussed but Rihanna came out as the artist of choice.”

Rihanna is reportedly thrilled with having been asked and is hoping that there will be enough room in her schedule for her to flick the switch.

Westfield’s marketing manager, Myf Ryan confirmed their interest stating, “The Christmas light switch-on at Westfield Stratford City is one of the highlights of the festive calendar. This year we want to thank our loyal shoppers by giving them something they’ll never forget.”

It will be the second time that the We Found Love singer has performed this duty, which she did in 2010, whilst Justin Bieber did the honours last year.

Earlier this week Rihanna announced that her album Unapologetic will be released on November 19. This will be her seventh album and follows the release of the track Diamonds last month. Is Rihanna set to dominate the musical landscape for the next 12 months too? What do you think of her latest single?
