Alaves Vs. Real Madrid: Preview, Predicted Line-Ups, Betting Tips, & Watch Live Stream Online

Real Madrid will face Deportivo Alaves in La Liga as the league leader look to extend its lead at the top of the table.

On Wednesday night, Real Madrid thrashed a lowly ranked team, Cultural Leonesa, 7-1, with Marco Asensio and Alvaro Morata being among the goal scorers for Real.

Athletic Bilbao was the last team Real Madrid faced in the league, and the Madrid side won that game thanks to a late goal from Alvaro Morata. The game was far from easy for Los Blancos, as it struggled to find a way through a resolute Athletic defense.

In that game, Karim Benzema scored the opening for Real in the 7th minute, but around the half-hour mark, Merino Zuloaga netted a wonderful team goal to bring parity in the scoreline.

Real was looking for inspiration towards the talisman Cristiano Ronaldo, but the Portuguese star was well below his best on the night and could not inject life into the flat Real attack.

But just seven minutes from the normal time, Alvaro Morata, who, despite coming as a substitute, converted Gareth Bale’s cross into the back of the net and won the game for his side.

Zinedine Zidane’s team has struggled heavily this season, and the Frenchman soon had to figure out the solutions for the difficulties of his team if Real Madrid wants to challenge for major honors this season.

Real Madrid: Team News

Madrid has been missing many key players due to injuries in recent games, and that is not going to change against Alaves. Luka Modric will be missed due to a knee injury, and so will Skipper Sergio Ramos.

Casimiro was expected to be available for Real after a recent international break, but even after one week after the break, the midfielder has not returned to the squad.

Ronaldo, who was nominated this week for Ballon d’Or 2016 along with Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos, and Luka Modric, is not scoring these days as he used to do. In some recent games, Real Madrid fans even whistled his performance, a notion Zidane is still baffled about.

Zidane said, per Times Live, “I don’t understand the jeers, but at the same time I was also jeered and it can happen.”

“The public demands a lot from the players and the Bernabeu is special. Cristiano knows that and is not concerned by it.

“Of course, I prefer if he scores two or three goals per game. But I’m not worried because I know it will happen.

“He is not making his chances now but he will, soon he will do so and with calmness.”

Meanwhile, youngster Lucas Vazquez has signed a new long-term deal to stay with the club.
