Lawrence Taylor: Tim Tebow Needs To Find A Girlfriend And Get Busy [Video]

New York Giants Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor has some advice for Tim Tebow:

“I would say he would have to go to church, temple — wherever he goes — find a nice girl and get laid. I mean, marry her if he has to, but he’s got to get some of that pressure off.”

L.T. offered these comments on Showtime’s Inside The NFL in response to a made-up, humorous question about making it in the Big Apple submitted by “Tim from the Meadowlands.”

USA Today describes the reaction on the set to Taylor’s remarks:

“[host James] Brown and co-hosts Phil Simms and Cris Collinsworth reacted to Taylor’s response with some mixture of chuckles and groans with Simms (Taylor’s New York Giants teammate for 13 seasons) saying, ‘As you soon as you said Tim Tebow, I knew this was not gonna be good.’ “

The Sports Grid is not necessarily sold on L.T. providing relationship advice to the Jets’ backup quarterback:

“Lawrence may have found himself professional success in the Meadowlands swamps, but he is also officially a low-risk sex offender because he was found guilty of sexual misconduct and patronizing an underage prostitute. If that doesn’t predispose you to giving sex advice, well I just don’t know what does.”

According to OpposingViews.com, “The best thing anyone can do with L.T.’s advice is listen to it, nod politely, and then do the exact opposite.”

In addition to his run-ins with the law, Lawrence Taylor has struggled with drug and alcohol addiction.  Considered one of the greatest defensive players in NFL history, L.T. played for the Giants from 1981 to 1993 and is a two-time Super Bowl champion.

  1. First time I read the article my reaction was "Say What! "But then we all know how print can transform a simple statement into a High Lighted Special. Luckily, there was a video. I admit to being aggravated with L.T., and the other News Anchors as they chuckled, but I watched it a second time and felt differently. When you gaze upon the Veteran Line Backer after the question from Tim, he answers truthfully according to himself and how HE endured the pressure. I don't even believe he replied with a retaliation but rather exactly what Tim asked for, Lawrence's Resolution on dealing with pressure and success in "The Big Apple".Taylor even seems confused as the room fills with wild laughs pertaining to Tim's Voluntary Contract with J.C., proving once again there was no intention to cause conflict regarding Tim's character and choices. I'm not a man but I am a HU-MAN and I understand the importance and preciousness that sex has to offer, and the responsibilities! Sometimes it's difficult for us to empathize with another's decisions when we believe we know where the light in the tunnel is. I am emphatic with Tim.T on this commitment and encourage My Brothers & Sisters to seek their own right to happiness. Gob Bless. <3 Drea

  3. What I liked most is the reactions, especially Collingsworth! Hilarious!
