WWE Rumors: Is Triple H Preventing Goldberg From Participating In The ‘Royal Rumble’?

With Goldberg’s return to the WWE ring imminent, the WWE rumors mill is going into overdrive. We’ve already heard all of the latest WWE rumors about Goldberg’s impending rematch against the Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. Their encounter has been 12 years in the making, and it is finally coming to pass, but if a certain WWE superstar has anything to say about it, Goldberg won’t be fighting in the Royal Rumble.

According to the latest WWE rumors presented by Morning News USA, there’s a bit of concern surrounding Goldberg’s return to the ring, especially if he’s looking to face off against Brock Lesnar. For one, let’s remember that Goldberg hasn’t been in the wrestling ring in more than a decade, and he’s nearly 50-years-old. He’s not in his prime fighting shape, and to go up against Brock Lesnar, who is notorious for leaving his victims bloodied and otherwise badly wounded, could not only spell the end of Goldberg’s victorious return to the ring, it could seriously and permanently, damage his body in an irreparable way. For this reason, according to Morning News USA, Triple H is trying desperately to keep Goldberg out of the ring during the Royal Rumble, and from participating in any match against an opponent that would easily best him. But are all of these precautions really necessary?

Meanwhile, according to the latest WWE rumors put out by the International Business Times of India, many of these rumors about the impending Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg fights (since we’re still not sure if the WWE will make the Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg fight to be a one-off incident or a recurring fight series to drive up Raw‘s ratings) are merely just a promotion to encourage gamers to download the Goldberg character in the PlayStation 4 (PS4) game, WWE 2k17.

Gamers and wrestling loyalists will be pleased to know that the multiplayer game, which features Brock Lesnar on the cover, now allows you to download Goldberg to play against Brock Lesnar if they simply cannot wait for the match between the two wrestlers to take place. Many possibilities exist as to which wrestler, in the game, will ultimately emerge victorious, but, as in professional wrestling, it all depends on your skill level!

UPDATE: Despite the initial report by the International Business Times of India, the character of Goldberg is available for pre-order in the WWE 2K17 game. He will not be available for download until after the match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg is complete.

Finally, if you simply cannot wait to see which of these WWE rumors about Brock Lesnar and Goldberg prove true, you can check out WrestleZone‘s updated schedules for Brock Lesnar and Goldberg if you simply want to see them fight, even if not against each other.

As fans of Raw undoubtedly know, Goldberg has been officially signed to the brand, and he will be seen on the popular Monday night series tomorrow, October 17 when it broadcasts live from Denver. He will also be appearing on the October 31 edition of Raw, and the November 14 edition of Raw. It bears noting that November 14’s edition of Raw is the last one before the airing of the Survivor Series, so on or before that day, we will know if Goldberg is fighting in the Thanksgiving special, and if so, who his opponent will be.

Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar, who has been uncharacteristically fighting more and promoting himself more, is also scheduled to appear on tomorrow’s Raw, as Goldberg is set to address the challenge put forth by Paul Heyman, Lesnar’s representative. Lesnar is also scheduled to appear on the November 14 edition of Raw, the last one before the Survivor Series. However, it bears noting that neither Goldberg nor Lesnar is listed on the schedule of the Survivor Series, nor are they advertised for any post-Survivor Series specials. This doesn’t necessarily mean that they won’t be seen in the Survivor Series, but if they are, the WWE is certainly playing it close to the vest.
