Bowers & Wilkins P7 Wireless Earns Best Reviews For Bluetooth Headphones

The Bowers & Wilkins P7 Wireless headphones were released a couple of weeks ago. At $399, they are certainly expensive, but just about every reviewer thinks they are worth the price. The Inquisitr reviewed them the they were released.

“At $399, the Bowers & Wilkins P7 Wireless will certainly take a bite out of your wallet. However, it may be a bite that is completely worth it. The P7 Wireless feel and sound so good that they are hard to take off your ears.”

The review noted that when listening to the song “Hello” by Adele, one could hear instruments they are unable to do with other wireless headphones. PC Magazine is just as impressed and gives the P7 Wireless an “Editors’ Choice” award.

“For $400, the Bowers & Wilkins P7 Wireless sounds, looks, and feels like a luxury product…But there’s no question the P7 Wireless makes up for its price in performance, so it earns our Editors’ Choice for high-end headphones.”

The review notes that on tracks with intense sub-bass content, the P7 Wireless delivers serious thunder. Critic Tim Gideon, like others, is also very impressed with the design, which features a soft leather-lined headband, as well as leather-lined earcups and earpads.

What Hi-Fi gives the Bowers & Wilkins P7 a five-star rating.

“We can’t say we’re surprised, but the fact is the P7 Wireless headphones set a high standard for other competitors in this price range to reach. B&W has built a very impressive pair of Bluetooth headphones that we’d certainly recommend for their sound quality, stylish design, and user-friendly Bluetooth controls,” claims the review.

What Hi-Fi notes that the P7 Wireless can keep the contrast between the quiet background echoes and the distortion guitars balanced and organized. They are great headphones for audiophiles, although many audiophiles say they wouldn’t be caught dead with wireless headphones. However, they may have to, as smartphone companies are starting to do without the headphone jack.

When people first learned that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus would not include a headphone jack, they went ballistic. BGR wondered if Apple did a bad job of justifying the lack of a headphone jack.

“Either way, the burden was decidedly on Apple to convince users that they wouldn’t miss the headphone jack. And now that we’re a few days removed from the event, we can calmly ask: did Apple adequately justify its decision to remove the headphone jack? Unfortunately, the answer to that question is resounding no.”

The article added that even though Apple said it was encouraging “something better” by removing the headphone jack, most still aren’t sure what exactly that “something better” is. Many in the comments section after the article agreed that Apple’s latest move is not a good one.

Mashable also thinks killing the headphone jack doesn’t represent anything groundbreaking.

“And I’ve never heard anything as ridiculous emanate from that stage as I did Wednesday, when marketing chief Phil Schiller explained why the iPhone 7 would not have a standard 3.5mm aux cable input, better known as the headphone jack,” said columnist Chris Taylor.

Taylor believed that Apple has withdrawn the most successful, most widespread, and best audio standard in the world in favor of its own proprietary system. He says that there is no way that losing the audio jack could even compare with losing the CD drive or the 30-pin connector, especially since music doesn’t sound better over Bluetooth or a lightning connector.

As the Inquisitr reported last week, sources now claim that the upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone from Samsung won’t contain a headphone jack. If both Apple and Samsung are forgoing the headphone jack, perhaps it’s a good time to invest in a pair of wireless headphones. As every review attests, the Bowers & Wilkins P7 Wireless headphones are the perfect ones to invest in.
