Jason Terry Learns Boston Accent To Connect With Celtics Fans [Video]

Jason Terry has a Boston accent now.

Not really, but the multi-talented guard is willing to give it a try in order to endear himself to fans of his new team, the Celtics. As NESN has noted, Terry has pulled out all the stops since coming to Boston in order to make fans love him. His latest attempt comes via a video where he talks with Boston fans to better connect with them.

As part of this bonding, the guard has decided to learning to speak as the natives do. Jason Terry’s Boston accent came from the help of some fans outside Fenway Park, who taught him the right way to pronounce — or rather not pronounce — the letter “r” in his words.

Jason Terry’s Boston accent isn’t the guard’s only effort to reach out to Celtics fans, SLAM Online noted. He noted that he is on a mission to kill the team’s main rivals:

“My mission is to kill; whether it’s the Heat, whether it’s the Lakers. Hopefully both. That’s my mission, and that’s what I’m here to do.

“Another opportunity to win a championship, that’s what it’s all about. There’s no other motive but to go out and win, and win it all.”

Jason Terry joins a team that looks much different than the 2008 NBA Champions. The Celtics have been slowed by age and injuries, as well as the loss of key players like Ray Allen in the offseason. He will have at least one major piece to work with, as Kevin Garnett decided against retirement to join the Celtics again next season.
